An ideal place to unwind and to be inspired by new ideas. Body and soul in harmony - this is within reach in Arambol. The architecture of the village is shaped by the former Portuguese colonial rulers, the landscape by the paradisiacal beaches (the longest beach in Goa) and the rainforests of the hinterland.

Bicycle tours, excursions to the famous Ajuna Flea Market, Paradise Beach or Mumbai can also be organized upon request.

If you want to explore the area on your own, there are many options: Taxes are available throughout the village and you can rent motorbikes or bicycles.

The 16 kilometer long beach is divided by interesting rock formations that can be crossed on well-developed paths. These transitions are lined with stalls selling textiles and jewelry. A walk on the beach can also be used for shopping.

If you follow the Teracoal River inland from the beach you will reach the Teracoal Fort on a small plateau and thus the northernmost military fortification of the Portuguese, which has since been converted into a luxurious hotel.

Also inland along a small stream, a path leads to Sweetwater Lake, a freshwater lake that is ideal for swimming. The sulphurous mud on the bank is said to have a purifying effect and blood circulation. Many visitors therefore do not miss this “free” mud pack. Another attraction very close by (about two kilometers into the jungle) is the “sacred banjan tree”. With its gigantic aerial roots, it is used as a meditation center by free spirits and hippies and is definitely worth seeing as a natural monument.

Athletes come to the train right on Sweetwater Lake. Paragliders like to use two 50 meter high hills as a starting point, so they benefit from the thermals around the hills as well as from the winds at the sea. Dolphins can be observed directly on the water from the boats, and numerous providers invite you to observe animals.

Of course you can also explore the whole peninsula from here. Public buses go directly to Mapusa, for example to visit the weekly market. On Wednesdays you can take a boat to Ajuna for shopping at the hippy market, which is known throughout India.

But the place itself has a lot to offer in addition to the sights such as the Catholic Church “Our Lady of Mount Carmel” and the Hindu temple on the beach. The main street and all the paths along the cliffs are lined with stalls selling jewelry, textiles and international restaurants and cafes.

Die unzähligen Aufenthalte in Mumbai und die Erfahrungen mit Bollywood Filmproduktionen haben gezeigt, dass ein großer Bedarf an europäischen Darstellern direkt vor Ort besteht.
